Matt is a freelance drummer and audio engineer, a graduate of Berklee College of Music and the co-owner of The Koop recording studios in Irvington, NY. As a drummer, Matt has played tours across the US and Europe with a wide variety of artists, including Jeremy Jordan + Age of Madness, Paul Young, Midge Ure, Emily Saliers (of the indigo girls), Jill Sobule, Toshi Reagon, Dorrance Dance, The Life and Music of George Michael, An Endless Sporadic and The Brighton Beat. As a session drummer, he’s played on thousands of songs for a wide variety of clients, mostly self recorded at The Koop. His drumming can be heard on commercial campaigns for Toyota, Dropbox, Zagats, Volvo, and other top brands.
As a producer and engineer Matt’s experiences range from producing albums with Jeremy Jordan + Age of Madness and legendary composer of the “Cheers” theme song, Gary Portnoy, to recording voiceovers with George Clooney for a feature film, Ben Stiller for a Superbowl commercial, podcasts hosted by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Guy Raz, and mixing theme songs for CBS Sports.
In 2026, Matt will be performing with Age of Madness as they continue their “Mount Olympus” tour. He’ll also be playing with Artist and Producer RJ Pasin on his spring headlining tour and his fall tour opening for the legendary Polyphia. Additionally he has performances planned throughout the year with Toshi Reagon, the Brighton Beat and An Endless Sporadic.
